Forrest Black and I have been enjoying going through images for our California Deathrock book Kickstarter. We’ve already started editing film because we know the book is going to be published. We are just waiting until the end of the pledge period today at 2:50pm Pacific to figure out just how fabulous we can make it. We have a lot of hours of editing before we know exactly what images will be in the book, but here is one of Mistress Domiana and Kat which I particularly like.

Yay! The California Deathrock book Kickstarter project Forrest Black and yours truly are working on is 52% funded. According to Kickstarter, projects which hit the halfway point have a 90% probability of going the distance. I was really nervous about doing the video part, but we finally put a video together and here it is! Special thanks to Death Guild and Release the Bats where some of this video was shot. SuicideGirls is a distant second place with the two Apnea covers and the one Ulorin Vex one.

When Blue Blood started, it was almost impossible to find anyone who would shoot a person with Crayola hair with fashion lighting. Both style and sensuality were things I really looked for editorially and still look for in models, so it seems like seeking flattering presentation in photography is just the logical extension. This is why I do not think of something which is so fundamental as cross-over. It is both gratifying and vaguely unsettling that something which was once such a struggle to publish and to distribute and to get anyone to shoot is now so nearly commonplace.
